Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier, began its journey on 4th January 1972, just immediate after the independence of Bangladesh through liberation war. The journey, in the war ravaged country, started with a modest small Dakota plane and now Biman connects 15 major International cities along seven domestic stations with a much younger fleet of 13 aircraft. Since inception, Biman carried 5 crore 50 lac passengers across the globe.

Biman, as a part of its fleet modernization, proudly announces induction of first two of four brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliners. From Dakota to Dreamliner, with this glorious journey, Biman is poised to enter a new era.

After successful induction of the 1st new Boeing 787 Dreamliner into in to its fleet on 19 August 2018, Biman is all set to receive the delivery of the 2nd Dreamliner on 29 November 2018 from Boeing Seattle factory. These two Dreamliner will be operated in Dhaka- London route six times in a week and also weekly four times in Dhaka-Dammam and weekly three fights in Dhaka- Bangkok route from 10 December 2018.

Boeing designed the 787 Dreamliner with passengers in mind, right from the start. With the largest windows of any jet, cleaner, more comfortable air, a smoother ride and space for everyone's bag, you'll arrive feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy life.

Biman's new Dreamliner aircraft has got 271 seats, comprising of 24 Business class and 247 economy class. The Business class seats are 180 degree reclined total flat bed. The Economy Class seats have comfortable 31 inch pitch.

The B787 Dreamliner, the wonder of the sky, is a mid-size, dual aisle, twin engine jet is 20% more fuel efficient than similar sized commercial jets. Composite materials make up 50 percent of the primary structure, including the fuselage and wing. Boeing lists its materials by weight as 50% composite, 20% aluminum, 15% titanium, 10% steel, and 5% other.

The engine nacelles are made of serrated edges that reduce the noise levels both outside and inside the cabin, by up to 60%. This long haul aircraft can perform 15-hour nonstop flight covering distance up to 13,602 km. Its cruising airspeed is Mach 0.85 equivalent to 903 km/hour at typical cruise altitudes.

The 787 flight deck includes two head-up displays (HUDs) as a standard feature. Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will have a paperless cockpit fitted with Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).

The windows are more than 30 percent larger than those on most similarly sized airplanes. Instead of pulling the shades up and down, customers can adjust the brightness of windows with a button. Using an electrochromic dimming system, the windows turn from fully transparent to completely dimmed in gradual steps.

Biman's new Boeing 787 Dreamliner has extra-large overhead bins, with 30% more capacity than the industry standard size meaning there is enough room for all passengers to stow a wheelie carry-on bag.

Because the aircraft is pressured to a lower equivalent altitude, you will breathe more oxygen than in any other aircraft. More oxygen means fewer headaches, less dizziness and less travel fatigue.

Biman's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner are fitted with world class Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system procured from the industry leader Panasonic. Passengers may enjoy Wi-Fi 43,000 feet up in the sky and also can make phone calls onboard to anywhere in the world. Nine world famous TV Channels will be streaming on board live. EBook Reader and 3D activated map will have special features in this hi-tech aircraft. Wide array of choices of classic to blockbuster movies and music along with exciting video games will enrich the customer experience with more joy and fun.
