On the occasion of the "Mujib Barsha", the 100 birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and with a commitment to provide the country an efficient manpower in electricity profession in line with the guidelines of Abul Kalam Azad, chief coordinator of SDG of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the closing programme of the "Consumer Electrician Trade Course" of the 1st batch was held at the WZPDCL Training Center successfully from 5-6 September 2019. A 5-year training plan (Mujib Barsha plus the next 4 years) has been taken to create efficient manpower in electricity profession. Power Division has declared 17 March 2020 to 17 March 2021 as "Mujib Barsha". To observe the year, seven training courses and twenty other training courses will be conducted in the next 4 years, duration of which will be of 2 months. 210 persons will be trained in 30 courses. Similarly 600 will be trained in next 4 years. In the context of this programme, the course of the 1st batch has been conducted successfully. The special feature of the "Consumer Electrician Trade Course" is provided free of cost. The main objective of this training courses is to make the less educated and unemployed youths of the Zillas and Upazillas as efficient manpower.
The closing ceremony of the 1st batch of "Consumer Electrician Trade Course" is arranged at the Conference room of WZPDCL Training Institute. The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Engineer Mr. Md. Shafique Uddin, Managing Director, WZPDCL, Khulna. In his speech he said that the slogans "Sheikh Hasinar Uddog, Ghare Ghare Biddyut" and "Gram Hobe Shahar" as declared by the Government should be implemented. To give shape of these slogans in reality, the Chief Coordinator of SDG of the present Government Mr. Abul Kalam Azad has emphasized the importance on this trade course for conversion of efficient manpower. The chief guest also said that at present electronic device, such as Television, fridge, rice cooker and aircooler have reached to rural area and for maintenance of these, the importance of "Consumer Electrician Trade Course" is immense. According to the mission and vision of mission and vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in making Bangladesh a developing country by 2021 and a developed country by 2041, there is no alternative to build up efficient manpower.
Mohammad Helal Hossain, District Commissioner, Khulna was present at the occasion as special guest. He said in his speech that electricity generation was 3,500 MW before the present government came to power but the present electricity generation is 30,000 MW. To accelerate more generation there is no alternative than creating efficient manpower in the sector. Keeping this objective ahead, he thanked and praised the WZPDCL Authority for organizing such a training programme in WZPDCL training Institute.
Other guests present at the Programme were: president of Khulna Press Club Mr. Shahed Ali, Chief Engineer of WZPDCL Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Company Secretary of WZPDCL Abdul Motaleb, Manager (Admin), WZPDCL Nazmul Huda, Executive Engineer (System Analyst), WZPDCL Mosharraf Hossain and Assistant Engineer, WZPDCL Khosrul Islam. Executive Engineer, WZPDCL Training Institute, Khulna Shahin Akter conducted the Programme. In the training Obaidul Islam obtained the 1st position, Md. Mahidul Islam obtained the 2nd position and Arif Hossain obtained the third position. The chief guest and the special guest awarded the trainees an electric tools box and a certificate so that they can enter their professions directly. q
