Women Entrepreneurs' Association (WEA) and Bangladesh organized "Begum Rokeya Day and honoring successful Women Entrepreneurs and Organizations" on Saturday, the 07th December, 2019 at Women's Voluntary Association (WVA), Road No. 27 (old), Dhanmondi, Dhaka from 9 AM to 4 PM. On this occasion WEA honored 8 successful women entrepreneurs and two organizations - SME Foundation and MIDAS Financing Limited for their contribution in women entrepreneurship development.
The program was divided into two parts. In the first part, there was a presentation on Begum Rokeya and her contribution in Women Empowerment; honoringeight women entrepreneurs and two organizations; speeches from Chief Guest, Special Guests and Founder President of WEA, and Cake Cutting for Celebration of birth month of WEA . On the second part there was a cultural program inspiring women.
Ms. Aroma Dutta, MP attended as Chief Guest and the special guests were Ms. Farzana Khan, General Manager, SME Foundation; Mr. Syed Ishtiaque Reza, Editor in Chief, GTV and Sara Bangla, and Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Managing Director, MIDAS Financing Limited. The Founder President of WEA and Former Advisor to the Caretaker Government Ms. Rokeya Afzal Rahman graced the occasion.
The honored women entrepreneurs were:

5. Ruxana Anwar
6. Dilshad Rahman
7. Rowshan Jabeen Ami
8. Farhana A Ahsan
The Program was chaired by Ms. Nilufer Karim, President WEA and vote of thanks rendered by Ms. Sharmeen Jahan Khan, General Secretary, WEA. A Lecture on "Begum Rokeya" was presented by Kazi Sufia Akhter Shelly, Gender Specialist.
The Program was conducted by Ms. Ruxana Anwar, Vice President of WEA and Members Fahmida Sultana, Sanjida Haque Bhuiyan and Shaheena Chowdhury (Mithu).
After Lunch there was a cultural event and performance by - TV and Radio Artist Zeenat Rehana, Nilufar Lily, Ruxana Anwar and Nahid Momen. The President and the members of WEA participated in the cultural program spontaneously. The program ended at 4PM.
The Strategic Partners of this event were faith Bangladesh, Society for Leadership Skills Development (SLSD), and Women Empowerment Organization (WEO). Media Partners were GTV, Her Net, CNI, and Sara Bangla.net and Radio Partner was Peoples Radio.
