Shabdabali Group Theater has staged its pivotal drama "Boishakhini" in West Bengal. Shabadabali was taking part in a theater festival organised by Theater Makers, based in Nadia of West Bengal, India. The drama they chose was 'Boishakhini' which is based on true events. The events are about a lady Freedom Fighter in the Liberation War of 1971.
The drama was staged on February 3 at Kalyani Kala Kendra, on February 4 Nazrul Shatabarsha Sadan Stage, Madhyamgram, on February 5 at Shantiniketan and on February 1 at Tepantar Natyagram of Bardhman. About the four back-to-back shows of the drama the director Syed Dulal has said that viewers in West Bengal have warmly received the drama. Even village people were enthusiastic about the theatre shows.
Chandan Sen had written the story of 'Boishakhini' which has been adapted for stage by Mahfuza Hilali. Actors of the drama are Tandra Mallick, Soniya Akter, Moni Akter and Surobhi Jahan Nishi. Syed Dulal is the chief of the theater house, which is based in Barisal.
