Enayetullah Khan, the Editor-in-Chief of United News of Bangladesh (UNB), has been re-elected Chairman of WildTeam, a conservation organisation.
He was elected the Chairman at the 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of WildTeam held at the city's Cosmos Centre on Saturday.
During the AGM, a five-member executive committee of the conservation organisatio was elected comprising Enayetullah Khan as the Chairman, Enam Ul Haque as the Vice Chairman, Professor Md Anwarul Islam as the General Secretary, Dr Gawsia Wahidunnessa Chowdhury as the Treasurer and Professor M Harunur Rashid as a member.
Enayetullah Khan is also the Managing Director of Cosmos Group as well as the Editor and Publisher of Dhaka Courier and Chairman of Cosmos Foundation.
WildTeam is carrying out its activities to improve the conservation status of key animal species and habitats in Bangladesh and developing partnerships, tools and platforms to build the capacity of organisations and individuals to carry out effective conservation in the country.
This year, WildTeam is going to successfully close its USAID's Bengal Tiger Conservation Activity (Bagh) on July 31.
USAID's Bagh Activity is a four-and-half-year initiative, implemented by WidTeam under the leadership of Bangladesh Forest Department and partnership with Smithsonian Institution and Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies, which focuses on conserving tigers in the Sundarbans.
