Bollywood's strongman Sanjay Dutt has taken part in a tour in Dhaka starting on March 28. In the evening of the very same day he paid a visit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence, Ganabhaban. At the meeting, Sanjay Dutt handed over a number of rare photos of an Indian cultural delegation that visited Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family immediately after the Liberation War of 1971. The delegation included Lata Mangeshkar, actress Wahid Rehman, Sanjay's father Sunil Dutt and Sanjay himself in his younger self. PM's Private Sector Development Affairs Adviser Salman F Rahman and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud were also present at the meeting.
Earlier it was revealed that the actor reached Dhaka to launch the official logo of Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open. The logo launching ceremony started on March 28 at 4pm at Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment. There he also recalled that his father had good understanding with Bangabandhu. He further added that, Bangladesh holds special place in his heart, whenever he would get invited he will come here. For how long Sanjay decided to stay in Dhaka has not been clarified as yet.
Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open is about to be the first international tournament to be held in the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhaka Cantonment. Golfers from twenty-two countries would take part in the tournament due to run from April 3 to April 6.
This would be the second Dhaka visit by Sanjay Dutt. Previously he visited the capital city in 2010 to kick start expanded activities of an Indian business firm in Bangladesh. He stayed for less than six hours in the country on that occasion, though.
