Talented Bangladeshi artist Mong Mong Sho loves to depict the life and livelihood of the fishermen living in the coastal areas of Bangladesh. Hailing from Cox's Bazar the artist studied at the Institute of Fine Arts, Chittagong University. In 2012, he received a scholarship from Yunnan Provincial Government to study Fine Art in Kunming, China.

A solo exhibiting of Mong Mong Sho on the title "The Songs of Fisherman" was held at Yunnan Arts University rom May 21 to May 25. The artworks focused on the daily life of fishermen in Bangladesh's seaports. Art enthusiasts, with a close sight at his works, could easily understand and experience the real life of fishermen in Bangladesh.

Chen Liu, a teacher of Yunnan Arts University, spoke highly of the exhibition while inaugurating the show. He said that Mong Mong Sho listened to his inner heart and made efforts to record the characteristics of the place where he was born and raised.

In fact, "The Songs of Fisherman" was inspired by the lifestyle and tales of struggle of the native fishermen, who live near the seaport in Bangladesh. They are busy with fishing all the year round. Mong Mong Sho tried to use paintings to tell stories of one of the marginalised and backward community of the society. His childhood nostalgia too has a lasting impression on the works he creates.

At present, he is a postgraduate with major in watercolour at Yunnan Arts University. He has participated in many international art exhibitions in China and Bangladesh. His works are well received all over the world.
