Speculations about a renewed version of legendary playwright Humayun Ahmed's Misir Ali was raised quite a long ago online. Now all that can take final rest as the first official poster of the aforementioned version has been published. Based on Humayun Ahmed's Debi novel series- Anam Biswas, the scriptwriter of hit film Aynabazi is all set for sure to bring the popular mystic into the silver screen. The first film on Misir Ali will see Chanchal Chowdhury in the titular character. Chanchal happens to be yet another entry from Aynabazi team, where he was the lead actor. Also interesting is the production house behind the daring project, "C-Te Cinema" from actress Joya Ahsan. The film will be released in this very year.

On April 10 the first look of Chanchal aka Misir Ali was posted online. He is seen with ruffled white hair growing towards his brows. With an inquisitive look he smokes a cigarette holding it between his two fingers. Misir also sports wide framed glasses from the 60s and thin moustache accompanied by a beard. He posits himself in a dark background giving a nocturnal look to his character.

Apart from Chanchal playing Misir Ali, the role of Ranu will be played by Joya Ahsna, Ranu's husband Anis will be played by Animesh Aich, Nilu will be played by Shabnam Faria and Ahmed Saber by Iresh Zaker. Shooting has already wrapped-up and the project is currently undergoing post-production editing.
