Dhaka Doclab, an event for promoting South Asian documentary makers in international market, will start on August 26 at Liberation War Museum, Agargaon in the capital. This would be the third edition of the event. Dhaka Independent Film Network (DIFN), a platform of local filmmakers, has been organising the Doclab since 2017.

Thirty young filmmakers from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Afghanistan will participate in the Doclab. 18 of these will get to contend with their projects in the last two-days of the programme before filmmakers, broadcasters, sales agents, producers and festival managers from different countries.

The six-day long festival will include two sessions. The first four-days will feature workshop and mentoring and the final two-days as already mentioned will see documentary project pitching. The main intention of organising this programme is to provide a platform for local and south Asian documentary filmmakers and help them access international market. The participants will gain knowledge about international co-productions at the programme,

Doors have been opened for submissions and from among the total submissions, only selected projects will participate for mentoring and pitching at Doclab.
