Tagore artiste Debolina Sur recently performed at a musical evening, organised by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC), at the Kabi Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the city. The performance by the singer featured Nazrul Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet and modern songs.

The singer was accompanied by Apurbo Das on tabla, Nur-E Alam Sajeeb on keyboard, Bidyut Roy on octopad and Samu Barua on guitar.

Debolina Sur enthralled the audience with her wonderful performance at the event. Her rendition included melodious songs from several popular genres like Rabindra Sangeet, folk songs, modern songs as well as songs from her own album.

The songs Debolina performed at the programme were-'Fule Fule', 'Hoyto Tomari Janyo', 'Jol Foring', 'Sokhi Vabona Kahare', 'Oi Jhinuk Khota', 'Saat Ti Ronger', 'Mor Vabona', 'Borne Gondhe', 'Ami Shunechi Sedin', 'Dhitang', 'Moyurkonthi' and 'Hothon Se Chhulo Tum'.

Debolina Sur belongs to a wonderful cultural family background and this leads her going forward with music. As a child artiste, she achieved so many awards and National awards too 'Natun Kuri' is one of them. She went to Visva Bharati University of Shantiniketan and there she completed her M-Music (Honours) with Rabindra Sangeet. She achieved first class there. She had a great opportunity to learn music personally from Swastika Mukherjee, Gora Sarbadhikari, Vasabi Mukherjee.

After that she went to Rabindra Bharati University with ICCR Scholarship. There she completed her Master Degree in Rabindra Sangeet with first class. She got first place in Folk song in 'WB Rajya Sangeet Academy competition' and also got a chance to share her stage several times with legendary singers like Amar Paul, Kalyan Sen Barat, Nirmala Mishra and many more.
