A two days long basic GIS training with Q-GIS arranged by the leading conservation learning hub, Noazesh Knowledge Centre (NKC) of WildTeam, ended at the city's Cosmos Centre at Malibagh on this evening.
A total of 17 participants who are mostly professionals from different sectors and university students joined the session that began on Friday. The training started with the welcome speech of Meherun Niger Sultana, Program Officer of WildTeam.
The training session was facilitated by Nasir Uddin, Chief Instructor Analyst and LEM Team Leader, WildTeam and Animesh Ghose, Program Officer, WildTeam. They shared basic understanding of the GIS and provided hands on training on the GIS.
Mr Jahidul Kabir, Director of Sheikh Kamal Wildlife Center Gazipur, was the guest of honour in this occasion. He shared his experience with data analysis and how it is useful for the conservation and planning.
Prof Dr Md Anwarul Islam, CEO of WildTeam, made the closing remarks when he appreciated the participants' enthusiasm for learning GIS and enhancing their skills. The participants also shared their views about the training and acknowledged NKC's efforts to spread conservation skills.
