The movie 'Ek J Chilo Raja' recently has won the Indian National Filmfare Award '19 featuring the Best Bengali Movie. The leading character of the movie is Jaya Ahsan, a popular Bangladeshi actress. The movie, based on the story from a book of Partha Chattopadhyay, is directed by Srijit Mukherji, a noted film director of Pacchim Bangla. The movie has been produced by SVF entertainment, was released on October 13, 2018.
The whole plot of the movie is based on the Bhawal area of Bangladesh where an imposter claims that he is the lost prince of Bhawal estate, who was presumed to be dead about 12 years ago. While acting in the movie, Jaya had to study Bhawal's culture, diction and tradition to get into her character.
Earlier in 2017, a movie titled 'Bishorjon', directed by Kaushik Ganguly, won India's National Film Award and Jaya Ahsan was the leading actress of the movie. The plot of this movie is also based on Bangladeshi context. Jaya Ahsan has acknowledged the achievements on a Facebook post and said that it feels great to be a part of these award winning movies. Other casts of 'Ek J Chilo Raja' are- Jishu Sengupta, Aparna Sen, Rudranil Ghosh, Anjan Dutt, Anirban Bhattacharya and Tanusree Chakraborty.
