A new album of Tagore songs has been released by Rezwana Choudhury Bannya. The album was released during a special episode of her regular TV show "Gaane Gaane Shakal Shuru" on Channel i. The special episode was for celebrating the birthday of the singer. January 13 marked the birthday of Rezwana Choudhury Bannya. The episode started with rendition of the song "Tomar Surer Dhara" by Bannya and her team of Surer Dhara.
Before the album launch Sadi Muhammad ascended the stage. And after a short while the new album named "Tumi Mor Pao Nai Porichoy." The album contains ten Tagore songs singularly voiced by Bannya. Also present during the album launch were Farhadur Reza Probal, National Professor Anisuzzaman. Afterwards Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Channel i, also took to the stage and bestowed an honourary cloak upon Bannya. Subsequently he called on stage top contestants of the ongoing musical reality show of Channel i 'Gaaner Raja.' Songs of Bannya's new album include-Kholo Kholo Darr, Agune Holo Agunmoy, Bahire Bhul Hanbe Jokhon, Badhan Charar Shadhan Hobe etc.
Born in Rangpur, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya started taking music lessons from her uncle Abdul Ali at the encouragement of her parents. She received scholarship to study at Visva-Bharati University of West Bengal where she learned from Kanika Bandyopadhyay, Nilima Sen and Santidev Ghosh.
