Celebrated theatre personality Syed Jamil Ahmed is all set to bring up his latest production in March this year. This drama named “Jibon O Rajnoitik Bastabata” or “Life and Political Reality” is based on writer Shahidul Zahir’s novel by the same name. Final rehearsals of the drama have already started at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The drama is being produced by ‘Spardha.’

During November-December last year workshop was conducted on the drama by Syed Jamil Ahmed. Sixty-six actors from different educational institutions and theatre troupes attended the workshop. Among them, twenty-two have been selected for the final rehearsals.

Shahidul Zahir’s novel presents post-modern reflective perspectives about political realities surrounding 1971’s Liberation War- during the war, before the war and after the war. It has been directed by Syed Jamil Ahmed. He is also the advisor of ‘Spardha.’ Team of Spardha has brought ‘Rizwan’ before Dhaka audience. Inspired by the drama’s success after a year the team has undertaken a new project. Members of the team are Mohsina Akter, Saiful Islam Mondol, Md Sohel Rana and Md Abdul Rahim Khan.

Rizwan was brought forth by a troupe running under the title “Natbangla.” Now a new troupe ‘Spardha’ would bring a new drama. After successful staging of the drama a number of times this troupe will also be dissolved and a new troupe will be formed for a new production with new faces. In this process the concerned individuals believe new actors into stage drama can be introduced.
