Proshanta received the award for his novel 'Dugdugir Ashar.' Hamim Kamal got his award for story 'Sonailer Bon' and Hasan Nayeem got his award for poetry collection 'Dil Nilamer Haat.' Hamim Kamal dedicated his achievement to his wife. Hasan Nayeem said that he is a very small person and also a small poet; he feels delighted knowing that he has been honoured with an award.
Proshanta Mridha thanked the jury board and Gemcon for awarding him. He recalled that like the two young awardees of the day he too one day received the Gemcon award for young writers, and that is a bigger award then his newer one.
