Noazesh Knowledge Centre (NKC) at Cosmos Centre in Dhaka arranged a seminar on Indian Spotted Eagle on 6 October, 2019. Dubbed as WildHour, the seminar is one of the many regular events organised by NKC. Mohammod Foysal, an independent raptor researcher was invited as the spokesperson for this edition of WildHour.
Indian Spotted Eagle is one of the least understood birds found in Bangladesh. It's a large Eagle, measuring almost 60 cm in length and has a wingspan of about five feet. Like much other large Bird of Prey, the Species is already rare in Bangladesh. A few can be found in open areas with relatively sparse tree cover. Mr. Foysal gave a detailed presentation on the habitat, food habits, and behavior of this species. The audience and spokesperson had an interactive session discussing the importance of biodiversity conservation and various ecological issues. Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Chief Executive of WildTeam also joined the seminar alongside students and professionals from various backgrounds.
WildHour is one of the regular arrangements of NKC. WildHour sessions are open for all and generally engage with the audience in the form of discussions, film shows, oral presentations, etc.
Noazesh Knowledge Centre (NKC) is a joint initiative of WildTeam, Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and Cosmos Foundation which works to inspire and support people to cultivate awareness, knowledge, and expertise that would allow them to successfully engage in conservation-focused research, and careers.
