A reception was hosted at the Baridhara residence of Enayetullah Khan, Honorary Consul of Romania to Bangladesh and Editor-in-Chief of UNB and Dhaka Courier in honor of former French Ambassador Marie-Annick Bourdin on July 16, 2019.
Prime Minister's Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Kazi M Aminul, US Ambassador in Dhaka Earl R. Miller, German Ambassador Peter Fahrenholtz, Dutch Ambassador Harry Verweij, Brazilian Ambassador Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior and government officials, among others, attended the reception.
Recognizing the role of Ambassador Bourdin in boosting Bangladesh-France trade and economic ties, HT Imam said they might invite French President Emmanuel Macron to attend the programme celebrating the birth centenary of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman next year.
Enayetullah Khan termed the relationship between Bangladesh and France "greater and stronger" today on all fronts. He wished happiness and good health for Ambassador Bourdin.
Appreciating Bangladesh's progress, Ambassador Bourdin hoped that she will be watching from abroad what is going on for Bangladesh and wished to see more progress, more distributive justice and more education for everyone.
