Deputy Managing Director of Cosmos Group Masud Khan and his wife Kate Khan hosted a dinner at their Baridhara residence welcoming newly appointed Ambassador of France to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy on January 11, 2023.
"I consider my mission here as a very promising one. I was very lucky to come here at a time when many activities are resuming in cultural, economic, political and in so many different areas. I feel very rewarded by the big support from you all," said the Ambassador.
She finds the people here are so kind and humble; and easy going. "You are making our work so easy. I feel very honored."
Highlighting the strong ties between Bangladesh and France, Masud Khan also recalled the support of France and contributions of the French intellectuals like André Malraux during the War of Liberation in 1971. "French support to Bangladesh in 1971 was memorable."
Currently, 15,000 Bangladeshi nationals are living in France.
Economic relations between the two countries have flourished as France is one of the largest buyers of Bangladesh RMG, Masud Khan said.
Academics, diplomats, business leaders and artists attended the dinner.
