A discussion and cultural programme, orgainised by Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), was held in the city on Sunday, marking the Victory Day.
Ali Akther Rezvi FCA, chairman of Dhaka Regional Committee, ICAB, presided over the programme while Dewan Nurul Islam FCA, president of ICAB, its vice president Mahamud Hossain FCA, council members and Amanullah Khan, FCA and M Liaquat H. Chowdhury, FCA, FCMA among others were present.
Two noted freedom fighters-AKM Golam Kibria FCA and AKM Mizanur Rahman FCA-were honoured at the progamme for their contributions in the Liberation War.
The speakers recalled the heroic and glorious deeds of our valiant freedom fighers and the supreme sacrifices made by them in liberating our land and winning freedom and democracy for our people. They urged the citizens particularly the young generation of the counry to continue to draw inspiration from the ideology of the freedom fighters by demonstrating partriotism and contributing to the national progress.
The programme was rounded up with a prayer for the salvation of the martyrs of the Liberation War.
