Country's first indigenous filmmaker Aung Rakhine's second film is 'The Last Post-Office." The short film was premiered in Locarno Film Festival this year in the Open Doors Section. Now it has been selected to contend in France's Klehmo Ferrow International Film Festival. The 41st edition of the festival will run from February 1 to 9 next year. Ashish Khandaker, Shahriar Ferdous Shajib and Ashok Bepari comprise the lead cast of the film. The script has been written by Rajib Rafi and the film has been produced by Khana Talkies. Adnan Imtiaz and Rubaiyat Hossain of Khana Talkies have produced the film.

Among a primary selection from over nine thousand films Aung Rakhine's film has taken the final spots with seventy-six others. About this competitive festival Aung Rakhine said, "The festival is very significant for short film makers as it is a huge market for short films. It feels good knowing that the film has been selected in this festival." Adnan Imtiaz thinks that the festival is one of the major ones in the world of short films and getting selected here is indeed a thrilling experience for him.

Aung Rakhin directed the country's first indigenous language film "Mong Thengari". Transcribed as "My Bicycle" in English the film has been made in the Chakma language. However, "The Last Post-Office" has been made in Bangla. The film relates to the dying heritage of post-offices in the country in the advent of the digital age. Still at one corner of the country one postman continues his struggle to keep his post-office alive.
