Ekushey Padak winning singer Subir Nandi passed away on May 7 at a Singapore Hospital. To pay tribute to his soul the last song recorded by him was released yesterday on the YouTube channel-SH Global TV. The song was recorded on March 30 at Studio D Station, Maghbazar in the capital. It has been written by Sujan Hajong and composed by Jadu Ritchil. Suman Kalyan has arranged music for the song. It remembers Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through his memorabilia in his house at Dhanmondi 32.
The song is part of a mixed album named 'Bangabandhu Tumi Swapna Bangalir' that has eight vocalists from six countries of SAARC region. Subir Nandi's song was supposed to be released together with others' songs but Sujan Hajong decided to release it earlier out of respect for the late singer. All the songs of the album have been written by Sujan.
Sujan recalls that while singing for the song Subir Nandi had become emotional. Subir Nandi had reflected that the song held up before his eyes the house of Bangabandhu, the thick frame of his black glasses, his easy-chair, the picture of Sheikh Russel at his house.
Subir Nandi had also said-"The present generation is very much ahead. In this age songs, poetries and also films are being made on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The new song on Bangabandhu has splendid lyric from Sujan Hajong." The song according to him tries to highlight that the Bengali people will always remember Bangabandhu for his sacrifice for his country, land and mother.
