The 14th edition of National Children's Theatre and Cultural Festival 2019 ended on October 1 at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Segunbagicha in the city. The concluding day of the festival featured a cake cutting ceremony marking the 73rd birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, songs, dances, acrobatic show and others.
The festival featured dance performance, poetry recitation, drawing, the Historic 7th March Speech, acrobatic show, and also performances by the specially-abled children.
A total of 95 children's theatre troupes from across the country took part at the event. The festival was organised by People's Theatre Association (PTA), in association with BSA, the festival took place simultaneously at the National Theatre Hall, Experimental Theatre Hall, and Studio Theatre Hall, National Music and Dance Auditorium and open premises of Shilpakala Academy.
On the concluding day, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky cut the cake along with the participating children at the event. Besides, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy acrobatic troupe showcased different tricks to the delight of the audience while child artistes of People's Theatre Association performed songs and dance recitals.
The nine-day National Children's Theatre and Cultural Festival commenced at different venues of BSA on September 22. Over 10,000 children from 64 districts and 95 children's theatre troupes participated in this festival. The festival featured a total of 85 performances comprising plays, dance recitals, magic shows and more by nine district-based troupes every day at venues like National Theatre Hall, Experimental Theatre, Studio Theatre Hall, National Art Gallery and Music and Dance Centre of the academy.
