Mostofa Kamal’s novel ‘The Mother’ to hit Amazon this January

The English edition of novel ‘Jononi’ (The Mother) written by the celebrated Bangladeshi writer Mostofa Kamal is going to hit the internet marketplace Amazon this January.

The book to be published by the London-based Olympia Publishers has been translated by Dulal Al Mansur into English from the original version in Bangla.

Last year, another book consisting of three magnetic narratives – ‘Taliban, Pak Colonel and a Young Lady’, ‘Flaming Eventide’, and ‘The Flatterer”-- authored by Mostofa Kamal with the title ‘Three Novels’ was also released on Amazon. The Notion Press published the trilogy in a single edition simultaneously from India, Singapore and Malaysia in September last year. Mostofa Kamal launched into the writing career in 1984 leaving his distinct mark on almost all branches of literature. A prolific author, he has so far written a total of 104 books among which Janani, Agnikonya, Agnipurush, Agnimanush, Hello Colonel, Paromitake Shudhu Bachate Cheyechhi and Jinat Sundori o Mantri Kahini became most popular.

He joined the journalism profession in 1991 and has been serving as an executive editor in the widely circulated and influential Bangla daily Kalerkantho since 2012.
