Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has inaugurated the diplomats' tennis court at State guesthouse Meghna and urged all to make best use of it.
"It's a historic work at a historic moment," Dr Momen said while inaugurating the tennis court on October 28 marking the 57th birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Russel, youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said there will be a tournament between Bangladeshi and Foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka in December this year marking ongoing Mujib Barsho. "We will have some fun here."
The tennis court has been formally opened after 14 years.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam thanked Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen for taking the initiative to use the fantastic facilities here.
Shahriar, also President of Bangladesh Tennis Federation, said there could be multiple tournaments every year.
He said they will provide trainers and coach for the interested players here.
The State Minister also thanked the officials for understanding the actual spirit 'Mujib Barsho' saying the family of Bangabandhu is truly a sports loving family.
