Honorary Consul of Malta and Chairman of The Asian Age Shoeb Chowdhury had a meeting with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Republic of Malta Ian Borg in New Delhi on Saturday.
The Maltese foreign minister is visiting India on a two-day official tour.
Ian Borg said that it is important to uplift Malta's goodwill across the world.
The minister admired the role being played by Honorary Consul of Malta Shoeb Chowdhury to promote Malta in Bangladesh, according to a press release.
Ian Borg said illegal migration is one of the biggest challenges for most European countries including Malta in the current world, the press release reads.
Shoeb Chowdhury and Ian Borg talked about the post Covid economic plight of the world and the Russia-Ukraine War.
High Commissioner of Malta to India Reuben Gauci was present during the meeting.
Dr. Christopher Buttigieg, chief officer supervision, Anton Buttigieg, chief executive officer of Trade Malta, Marco Micallef, chief of secretariat, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta and chief executive officer of Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) Kenneth Farrugia took part in the meeting as well.
Shoeb Chowdhury presented a memento to Ian Borg during the meeting and invited Ian Borg to visit Bangladesh.
Ian Borg said that he would try to travel to Bangladesh at a convenient time next year, according to the official press release.
