Newly appointed Romanian Ambassador to Bangladesh Sena Latif submitted her credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin on July 29.
The President recalled with satisfaction that Romania was among the first countries to recognize the independence of Bangladesh after its proclamation, laying the grounds for an enduring, solid friendship, said the Ambassador.
"I ensured him of Romania's and my deep commitment to continue to work with the authorities and people of Bangladesh to further strengthen our excellent cooperation," she said.
The President of Bangladesh Mohammed Shahabuddin hosted an "impressive official ceremony" in Dhaka, where she had the privilege to present the Letters or Credence from President Nicuşor Dan, appointing her as Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
"It was a truly special moment, not only thanks to the high protocolar and military presence, but especially the warm and in-depth discussion with the President, dignitaries from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh," said the Romanian Ambassador.
She started her mandate as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to India in November 2024.
