Four newly appointed judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court took oath on Tuesday.
They were earlier promoted from judges of the High Court division.
Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath to the new judges on the Supreme Court premises at 10:30 am.
Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, registrar general of the Supreme Court, conducted the swearing-in ceremony.
The judges are Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, Justice Syed Md. Ziaul Karim, Justice Md. Rezaul Haque and Justice S. M. Emdadul Hoque.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin made the appointment under Article 95(1) of the constitution, which will be effective from the date of the oath.
Earlier on Saturday, Syed Refaat Ahmed, senior judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, was appointed as the 25th chief justice of Bangladesh.
The four judges join the chief justice and Justice Ashfaqul Islam.
