Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Honorary Fellow of the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), has joined the Cosmos Foundation as its Distinguished Fellow.

Author of a number of books and numerous articles on global, political, strategic and economic issues, Dr Chowdhury had also been Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of South Asia Studies since 2009, and served as Foreign Advisor (Foreign Minister) of the Caretaker Government in Bangladesh from 2007 to 2009.

A regular participant of the China-based World Peace Forum and the Kazakhstan-based Astana Club, Dr Iftekhar was also a Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

As President of the Cosmos Foundation, Dr Chowdhury chaired many key seminars hosted by the Foundation in Dhaka with Distinguished speakers in the last couple of years.

It may be recalled that Dr Danilo Turk, former President of the Republic of Slovenia, Ambassador Krishnan Srinivasan from India, Haider A. Khan, John Evans Distinguished University Professor, University of Denver, Professor George Edward Moose from the United States, and Ambassador Li Debiao, a Distinguished retired Chinese diplomat, are members of the Advisory Board of the Cosmos Foundation.
