Music band 'Spondan' is finally launching their debut album which they recently finished. Songs like 'Ishkul Khuilache', 'Mon Tui Chinlina' which were hugely popular in the 70s, will be in the album titled 'Spondon'. The most interesting fact is that living legend Kazi Hablu, one of the original Spondan team members, has played percussion in a few songs in the album.
After 46 years, Spondan has started their journey again. The sons of Firoz Shai and Kazi Hablu have brought back this legendary band. The present lineup includes Rezwan Firoz Neaz, Raihan Firoz Nazim, Kazi Anan, Redwan Firoz Naim and Kazi Shishir.
The band was formed on June 17, 1972, with a dream to enrich Bangla folk music. Within a very short time, it won everyone's heart with huge hits. After our liberation, the band made epic contributions with its members Nasir Ahmed Apu, Ferdous Junior, Aftab Kamal, Larry, Musa, Kamal, Happy Akhand, Kazi Hablu, Shahedul Huda, Ferdous Wahid, Late Firoz Shai and Sheikh Kamal. The band became the pioneer of introducing Bengali Pop, Rock, Folk and folk-based spiritual songs with the synchronization of western musical instruments.
They are considered to be the first to break out from our traditional music and create a fusion-bridge between western music and Bangla folk music.
G Series is the recording studio behind the new album and GP Music is the digital promotional partner. The videos of 'Ishkul Khuilache' and 'Shunaiya Nai' from the album will be published on the Facebook page of GP Music.
The album is mastered by Woody Pornpitaksuk, the Chief Mastering Engineer of Westside Mastering Studios. Woody was recognized at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards for his work on the Historical Album: Louis Armstrong - The Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven Recordings.n
