In the coming Eid-ul-Azha, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is all set to make a return to the small screen. Dramas directed by him will be aired on Channel i, the very destination he started his career as a director with. Tentatively three dramas by him have been confirmed in this Eid from Channel i. Two of them will be aired separately, while the third one has been included into a mega Eid-package named "Bhai Brother Express." The package is a mini-series combining a number of noted small screen directors. These were announced recently at a press meet held at the office of Channel i.
Farooki's drama in the series is based on a novel by Anisul Haque titled Ayesha Mangal. It is about state-sponsored terrorism. At the press meet Farooki said, "I am returning to the small screen after eight years. Everyone in the team wants to do something different. I thing the 'Bhai Brother Express' is a really unique idea from Channel i. Hopefully everyone would like it."
Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Channel i said, "The son of the house, namely Farooki has returned to his home. But now I would say that he is not the son of Channel i only but of the whole of Bangladesh, as he has won over the whole country with his ingenuous creativity."
The dramas of Bhai Brother Express have been directed by Redowan Rony, Ashfaq Nipun, Mahmudul Islam, Abdullah-al-Muqtadir, Fahad Khan, Nazmul Nabin, Mahmudul Hasan Adnan, Momin Biswas and Lotus Majumder. Except the first three in the line and also Mostofa Sarwar Farooki all the other directors have worked in pairs to direct a single drama together.
Farooki eight years ago started his directing career with the TV drama "Chharoibati" for Channel i. His first silver screen production 'Bachelor' was also released by Impress Telefilm, a concern aligned with Channel i.
