Lyricist behind the song 'Pagol Mon Re' Ahmed Kaiser has breathed his last. The songwriter died at the age of 62 on April 1 at his residence in Charkhali village in Patuakhali. He was suffering from heart complications. Poet MR Monju has confirmed the news asking everyone to pray for the departed soul so that he might rest in peace in the afterlife.
Ahmed Kaiser has written a number of other songs. He has also penned fifty books. He was enlisted as a lyricist by Bangladesh Betar in 1985 and by Bangladesh TV in 1990. He has won Nazrul Sommanona, Sound Bangla Golden Book Award, Osmani Award, Amra Korbo Joy Sommanona among others.
Books by him include- 'Chhanda Chharay Bangabandhu', 'Fulgulo Path-e Path-e' etc. He also edited the poetic publication 'Chharar Ashar'.
