A weeklong film festival featuring Liberation War-based films and documentaries has begun on December 15 at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of National Public Library, Shahbagh in the city.
The festival, titled 'Evaly 71 on Celluloid' was organised by Liberation War Affairs Ministry, marking the occasion of country's 49th Victory Day. E-Commerce site Evaly is the title sponsor of the festival. SS Communication planned and managed the festival, with having Bangladesh Film Archive and Bangladesh International Film Movement as associate partners.
Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haque inaugurated the festival as the chief guest. Member of Parliament Kazi Shahid Islam and Dhallywood actress Shahnoor, among others, were present at the programme.
Featured films are 'Aguner Poroshmoni' of Humayun Ahmed, 'Ora Egaro Jon' of Chashi Nazrul Islam, 'Guerrilla' of Nasiruddin Yousuff Bacchu, 'Joyjatra' of Tauquir Ahmed, 'Arunodoyer Agnishakkhi' of Subhash Dutta, 'Alor Michhil' of Narayan Ghosh Mita and 'Amar Jonmobhumi' of Alamgir Kumkum, along with documentaries like 'Stop Genocide' of Zahir Raihan, 'Shei Raater Kotha Bolte Eshechhi' of Kawsar Chowdhury, 'Deshe Agomon' and 'Not A Penny Not A Gun'.q
