IGCC organised an evening of classical and light classical songs by Bizon Chandra Mistry on May 5 at Chhayanaut Main Auditorium, Dhanmondi in the city.
Bizon Chandra Mistry got his B Music degree from the Government Music College, Dhaka, and Masters in Music (Nazrul Sangeet) with distinction from Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology. He has completed five years course in Nazrul Sangeet at Chhayanaut Sangeet Bhiddayatan, Dhaka. He has also taken training from many eminent musicians and is presently taking training from Sumon Chowdhury and Asit Dey.
Bizon is Teacher of Nazrul Sangeet at Chhayanaut Sangeet Biddayatan. He is part time music teacher at Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology (Department of Architecture) and at Chittagong University of Engineering Technology (Department of Architecture). He is an examiner at Jatio Kobi Kazi Narul Islam University, Trishal, and at BUET. He has conducted workshops in different districts of Bangladesh organised by Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha and by Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Sammelan Parishad. He also organised a workshop in Tripura, India - the Udaypur Nazrul Music Workshop. He is appointed judge for country-wide cultural competitions organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Bizon has performed in many prestigious programmes - solo performance at Bengal Foundation's 10-day Music Festival at Sylhet in 2017; solo performance at Nazrul Music Festival organised by Nazrul Academy in 2016 at Bangladesh National Museum; solo performances in programmes at Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka; he was part of delegation of 'Shadhona' which performed at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi; he has participated in many Classical Music Festivals at Chhayanaut, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Shudhha Sangeet Proshar Goshti, Sadarang Chittagong etc. n
