The fourth National Sculpture Exhibition 2018 was inaugurated on May 9 at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. More than a hundred sculptures on diverse themes and mediums are on display at the mega exhibition. About hundred famous and booming sculptors have taken part at the exhibition.
Eminent sculptors of the country---- Abdur Razzaque, Syed Abdullah Khalid, Mojibur Rahman, Anwar Jahan, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Ivy Zaman and others works are on display. At the inaugural session, Khokan Chandra Sarkar bagged the National Sculpture Award 2018 while Palash Saha, Shimul Datta, Kazi Salahuddin Ahmed and Alok Kumar Sarkar received Honourable Mention Awards.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest. Cultural affairs secretary Nasiruddin Ahmed and eminent sculptor Hamiduzzaman Khan attended the event as special guests. Liaquat Ali Lucky, director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy presided over the inaugural session. Ashraful Alam Paplu, director of Fine Arts Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy delivered the welcome speech.
The show will continue till June 7.
