Bangladesh prepares to participate for the first time in the 68th edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant in South Korea in December 2019 opening up a great opportunity for confident and beautiful women of Bangladesh at the global platform. The grand finale of 'Miss Universe Bangladesh' will be held on 23rd of October in Dhaka and the winner will participate in Miss Universe pageant. "Miss Universe Bangladesh" was officially launched on September 7 at Hotel Sonargaon in the city.
Rizwan Bin Farouq, chairman of 'Miss Universe Bangladesh' said, "The contest will feature some of the most beautiful, intelligent, elegant, talented and confident women of our country. The motto of Miss Universe is 'Confidently beautiful'. This will be the platform where confident Bangladeshi women will face the challenge of the world and serve humanity through various social works. The violence against women is a burning issue in our country and through this initiative it will be addressed all across the country to increase awareness against this violence. It is a great pride that for the first time someone from Bangladesh will represent in 2019 Miss Universe and will be goodwill ambassador of our country in a global platform and show that Bangladeshi women are as confident as any other women of the world."
He further stated that in the Grand Finale, Bollywood superstar and Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen will be present as one of the judges and crown the winner.
It was also revealed that through social media (Facebook) 1.6 million people have seen the post and 8,000 interested women from all over the country have registered online. The registration process will conclude on September 14th. Unmarried women between the age of 18 to 28 will be able to participate in the competition. The Miss Universe Bangladesh will be aired on popular TV channel RTV.
