Country's renowned cultural organization Chhayanaut's annual 'Shuddha Sangeet Utshab' was held on December 19 and 20 at its auditorium in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
Presided by Chhayanaut's vice-president Khairul Anam Shakil, the event was inaugurated by eminent tabla exponent Pabitra Mohan Dey from Mymensingh.
The two-day long festivity kicked off with playing the National Anthem, and featured tantalizing performances by Chhyanaut music troupe alongside with Satindranath Haldar, Anil Kumar Saha and Swarnamoy Chakraborty on the first day.
Flute artist Murtaza Kabir Murad performed a solo flute recital (Raga: Bhupali) and three siblings- Sabuj Ahmed, Shanto Ahmed and Kamrul Ahmed respectively played tabla, violin and flute in a trio performance on first day's session.
The second session of this annual event began on Friday, December 20 evening which continued till Saturday morning. Apart from chorus and group performances by artistes of Chhayanaut, several noted and artists including the organization's vice-president Khairul Anam Shakil and artists Razwan Ali, Asit Kumar Dey, Shekhar Mondal, Bizon Chandra Mistry and Shrabanti Dhar performed kheyal music. Abhijit Kundu and Tinku Shil rendered a duet vocal performance at the festival. Minhazul Hasan Emon, Suptika Mondal, Parag Pratim Chakraborty also performed at the session.
This year marks the 13th iteration of this annual event of Chhayanaut.
