Their tagline is often referred by themselves through their signature hashtag '#getinfected'- but unlike other harmful viruses, they choose to spread happiness in the adrenaline of their fans. The presence of this omnipresent virus is pretty real in Bangladesh's music industry since 2002- and the name is 'Arbovirus'.
Fast forward 17 years later, the band has cemented their legacy as one of the iconic rock bands of the nation. Very few songs of this nation was showered with immense love as Arbovirus's 'Hariye Jao'- a song that has a massive 5.9 million views on YouTube; clearly one of the very special from their creations. Apart from that, the band also produced several thought provoking, enriched musical numbers for their fans such as 'School', 'Shohor', 'Bhenge Felo', 'Jaalo Agun Jaalo' and many other beloved tracks, under their 3 studio album known as '64m 53s' (2006), 'Montobbo Nishproyojon' (2013) and 'Bishesh Droshtobbo' (2017).
Although they entertained their infected fans with all these tracks and albums- many have wondered what could be their next collaboration- and the fun loving band seems pretty acknowledged about the matter, as they named their next venture with a notion to answer their future footsteps.
After taking a studio hiatus of two long years, Arbovirus has again started their mission to infect their fans with their brand new EP titled as 'Otopor', released on the very first day of our Bangla New Year. On the festive occasion of Pahela Baishakh at 14th April, the band launched their latest collaboration with GP music. The EP contained total 4 brand new songs, from which 3 have already been released and the rest of the four is scheduled to be released on this May.
GP music, the partner of this EP arranged an in-house concert along with an interactive meet and greet session for the fans as the album's launching ceremony on Saturday, 27th April, 2019 at Bashundhara's GP house. They also informed that this EP is exclusively available on both the app and website of GP music.
"We had previously decided to release this EP on August, last year- but later decided to reschedule it and gift the EP to our fans on this festive occasion, as they waited for such a long time"- said by the band's vocal Sufi Maverick.
With the launching of this brand new EP, an upcoming 'Rockumentary' is also scheduled to be launched which will portray the untold stories of Arbovirus such as their musical journey, influences and inspirations, songwriting and songmaking process, tours and everything else along with messages from their fans. This 'Rockumentary' is scheduled to be released as small episodes, and both the 'Rockumentary' and the music videos of these 4 songs will be broadcasted on GP Music's Facebook Page and YouTube channel.
