Bangladeshi-American artiste Shaan Jamil Hossain, better known by his stage name "Lil Late", recently gave a live performance - 'High Lights', an exclusive event presented by Artemis Arthouse at Naveed's Comedy Club in Dhaka's Gulshan.
The event also featured performances by Bishal Karim, Shareeb, Arif and JAEI.
Dhaka's urban music enthusiasts turned out at the event, during which Lil Late performed his popular songs "Act right," "Forever," "Call Me?" "Superglue" etc, as well as his Bangla song "Raater Kotha" that generated buzz when it came out last year.
Currently living in Los Angeles, US, Lil Late started his musical journey in collaboration with his long-time friend and executive producer Arif Elahi.
"When I decided that I want to make songs, I reached out to Arif. We spend a lot of time making a lot of songs, pretty much every day," Lil Late told UNB.
Arif added: "Every day, for a year and a half - any chance we got, be it midnights or even at 3 am - we tried to put in our effort and make music."
"It's been an amazing experience. We are just starting and hopefully, this year is going to be a big year for us. We have planned a lot of things for this year, and we are also planning to drop an album - our first big project called 'Motion Sickness', and we are really excited about that," Lil Late said.
"Our main goal is to give the world some amazing music. We are really proud that we are from Bangladesh; we try to show our culture and heritage in every possible way that we can... We can represent Bangladesh and make some noise in the international music scene," he added.
Shaan Jamil Hossain is the son of renowned artist Afrozaa Jamil Konka and grandson of Shaheed Brigadier General Jamil Uddin Ahmed 'Bir Uttam', widely revered as 'Colonel Jamil' who sacrificed his life in his solo and valiant effort to save the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on August 15, 1975.
