Cultural Correspondent Featuring captivating artworks made by 105 amateur artists, a group exhibition titled "The Magical Brush" returned with its second season at Safiuddin Shilpalay, Dhanmondi in the capital on Monday.
Art patron Mahfuz Canvas presented the second season of "The Magical Brush," the flagship exhibition of youth group AllStar, which is co-sponsored by Moon Calligraphy.
The exhibition was inaugurated by 2022 Ekushey Padak winner and renowned actor, director, writer and painter Afzal Hossain, who lauded the flamboyant effort of the amateur artists.
"Back in the day when we first commenced our creative journeys, our passion propelled us forward, and we were fortunate to have the support of some amazing, understanding souls. Nowadays, all we see is people snatching opportunities from one another, which is why this exhibition impressed me as unique because of the artistic collaboration between the artists and the organizers." Afzal Hossain said as the chief guest.
The exhibition showcased a wide variety of artworks, ranging from contemporary paintings to calligraphy and more.
Mahfuz Canvas, formed by Bangladeshi creative impressionist artist, painter, and corporate professional Mahfuzur Rahman who is currently residing in Dubai, UAE, was the exhibition's title sponsor.
Known as a patron of young amateur artists for his contribution and support that helped hundreds of artists to showcase their amazing skills and enhance themselves in the realm of art, Mahfuzur Rahman shared his vision behind this exhibition from Dubai to Dhaka Courier.
"I am highly appreciative of AllStar Group for organizing this exhibition, and it is an honour for Mahfuz Canvas to be a part with groups in Bangladesh who take such initiatives to give self-taught artists an equal platform. All of our efforts are aimed at these self-taught, self-motivated artists who utilize their time to create such colourful and thought-provoking paintings.
AllStar Chief Executive Officer Ismam Khan, Managing Director Md Abu Shahed, co-sponsor Moon Calligraphy founder and calligrapher Moontasir Haque Moon, artist and Mahfuz Canvas creative Masuka Nourin Heya were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
