The 63rd birth anniversary of the late renowned Bangladeshi musician Lucky Akhand was celebrated by Google on June 7.
The search engine giant created a new doodle, featuring Lucky Akhand wearing a pink cap and black clothes, while holding a guitar and singing with pink flower petals surrounding him. It was seen above the search box on the homepage of Google since early June 7.
Lucky, also a freedom fighter, composed many popular songs like "Abar Elo Je Sandhya", "Ei Neel Manihar", "Amay Deko Na", "Ke Banshi Bajay Rey", "Agey Jadi Jantam" and more.
Lucky, born on June 18, 1956, was introduced to music at an early age of five by his father. He joined Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra in 1971. After the war, Lucky started his career with self-titled solo album Lucky Akhand in 1984.
Lucky and his brother Happy Akhand Deceased in 1987 literally popularised guitar among a new generation of musicians. He passed away on April 21, 2017 after suffering from lung cancer.
