International Art Camp in Habiganj


An international art camp was held at The Palace Resort in Habiganj on September 6 and 7. Noted artists like Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Hashem Khan, KMA Qayyum, Ranjit Das, Nasrin Begum, Dr Mohammad Iqbal, Goutam Chakraborty were present at the art camp on part of Bangladesh. Japanese artist Yona Ogino and Italian artist Constantin Migliorini also took part in the art camp. Liaquat Ali Lucky, director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy coordinated the art camp. Total nine artists took part at the art camp. Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury, secretary of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and AM Mostak Ahmed, assistant director of the Department of Fine Arts, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy were also present. The art camp has been arranged as part of the ongoing Asian Art Biennale. This mega art festival held biannually is running in its 18th edition this year. Starting from September 1 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy the biennale will run till September 30 with the participation of artistes from sixty-eight countries. Not just paintings but also performance art, video installations have been put up on the premises of National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy for the enthusiastic biennale visitors.
